G.O.A.T. · Goes Over Any Type of Terrain

Seven drive modes. One knob.

The G.O.A.T. Modes system gives Bronco Sport drivers up to seven terrain-tuned drive modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Sand, Mud/Ruts and (on Badlands) Rock Crawl. Each mode adjusts throttle response, transmission shift points, traction control intervention and four-wheel-drive behavior for the surface ahead.

Standard four-wheel drive across the lineup. The Badlands adds Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, additional steel skid plates, and a twin-clutch rear drive unit for differential locking, plus the 2.0L EcoBoost engine. The same Bronco Sport handles Toronto commute mornings and the rocky access road to your favourite paddle launch.

Bronco Sport vs Badlands · Spec separation

Two engines, two different SUVs.

The 1.5L EcoBoost three-cylinder in the Big Bend, Heritage and Outer Banks produces 180 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque, with towing up to 2,200 lb when equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow package. It is the right engine for daily driving with the occasional gravel detour.

The 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder in the Badlands jumps to 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft, with 2,700 lb of towing capacity and meaningful gains in throttle response at altitude or with a rooftop tent loaded. If your weekend involves serious trails or hauling toys, the Badlands is the build.

For the weekend warrior · GTA to Algonquin

Toronto on weekdays. Algonquin on weekends.

The Bronco Sport is the daily-driver-friendly half of the Bronco family. Park it in a Toronto townhouse driveway during the week, then point it at Algonquin Park or the Bruce Peninsula on Friday afternoon. The Badlands handles the fire-access roads and ungraded launches; the Outer Banks keeps the family comfortable on the highway with premium-trimmed seats.

Standard cargo features include a flip-up rear glass for quick gear access, a sliding cargo cover, rubberized cargo floor (Badlands), and roof rails on every trim ready for a roof basket, a kayak rack or a rooftop tent. The Bronco Sport is engineered to be loaded heavy and driven dirty.

How many G.O.A.T. modes does the 2026 Bronco Sport have?

Up to seven G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Sand, Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl. Rock Crawl is exclusive to the Badlands.
